Restaurant Review - Derby Arms, Epsom

Restaurant name: The Derby Arms
Location: near Epsom racecourse, Surrey
Description: Cosy country pub with a large restaurant section

Reason for visit: Date night with my boyfriend
I ate: We had a baked camembert to start, which came with a few pieces of sourdough bread and caramelised onion. I can't remember the exact name on the menu of my main course, but I had pieces of duck breast on top of gnocchi in a mustard sauce. I had the chocolate brownie for dessert.
My companion ate: We shared the starter and he had the West country beef burger as his main course and sticky toffee pudding for dessert.

The food was: Excellent - the camembert was delicious and my duck was extremely tender; the mustard sauce on the gnocchi was very good. The desserts were fine but not amazing, though the portions - my chocolate brownie in particular - were very large.
The atmosphere/service was: It's a nice pub with what appears to be a regular clientele, and the service is very good.

Price range/value for money: Not bad - the burger is £11.95 plus £1.50 extra for bacon so not exactly cheap but it is good quality. Desserts are all around £5 which to me seems a bit pricey but then a lot of places charge even more for much smaller portions.
Would I recommend it? Yes, my boyfriend and I really like this pub and have been here a few times; the food has always been to a high standard and there is a lot of choice on the menu.
